Choosing to live on campus is a wise decision because it puts students right in the middle of college life. You will be close to classrooms, instructors, and learning resources, including the computer labs and library. Our primary goal is to provide students a convenient, safe, and comfortable place to live during their college years.

BENEFITS

National surveys indicate students who live in residence halls maintain higher grade point averages and are more likely to stay in school and graduate than students who live off campus. In addition, students who live on campus tend to be more satisfied with their college experience and have unique opportunities to make lasting friendships. Living on campus is an excellent way to take full advantage of all the opportunities available at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and in northern Minnesota.

AMENITIES

The spectacular architecture and functional room designs combine to offer a pleasant environment for all residents. Units are spacious and include the amenities of telephone service, high-speed Internet access, air conditioning, and all utilities. A parking lot directly adjoining the residence hall is reserved for residents.

AFFORDABLE

On-campus housing is a great value for students. Utility costs for heat, electric, local telephone, water, and garbage pick-up and recycling services are included in the room rental fee. Online computer service and high-speed Internet access are provided by the college. On-campus housing costs are used in calculating financial aid awards for eligible students.

Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Housing Costs

  • Fall Semester 2024 is from August 22 to December 20
    • Total Days: 121 days at $20.00 per day per student = $2,420.00

Students will not be charged or allowed to stay in the dorms over winter break from December 21 through January 8. Student items can stay in the dorms over winter break if you wish to keep them there. Students normally do not stay over the summer because we have camps, academies, painting, maintenance, and cleaning crews in the facility. Housing prices include all utilities, internet, phone, garbage, access to free washers and dryers, water/sewage, and basic cable television access in the dormitory commons.

APARTMENT STYLE LIVING

The student housing complex consists of one building with two wings, providing accommodations for 100 residents. The units come completely furnished with bedroom, living room and dining room furniture. Each unit has a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and stove, sink, and food storage areas. All units contain at least one bathroom with a shower. Each resident is provided a bed with mattress, study area, chest of drawers, and wardrobe closet in their unit.

Unique architectural design elements such as the open-space talking circles in the lobby areas contribute to the idea of bringing students together. Other elements, including the large timber columns and many windows, make the student living complex a very welcoming place.

Common areas include student lounge and laundry facilities. Reserved parking is available near the building. The entire housing facility is a non-smoking area and alcohol-free. No smoking or alcohol is allowed anywhere in the building, including individual student’s rooms, and regardless of the age of any resident or guest.

All students living in the residence hall will share living space and bedrooms with other students. No single rooms are available. Students are assigned to rooms, two students per bedroom until capacity is reached.

The facility has a 24-hour security system with video surveillance in public areas inside and outside the building.

ACTIVITIES

Residents in the housing complex have access to and participate in a wide range of activities including movie outings, barbecues, concerts, athletic events, and various cultural and community activities. Testimonials

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.
