The Nandagikendan Seek to Learn Academy provides students with the core knowledge of what it takes to get started in college, and how to be successful in college. Students will have lived on a college campus, completed real college work, and heard first-hand from those who have been there and are successful. The academy is a great opportunity for high school students planning to attend college.
Our goals are to:
- Assist high school students with their college and career plans
- Provide hands-on, experiential learning of college life
- Build relationships and intercultural communication skills
- Prepare students for academic success
Our Summer Academy is a week-long program that focuses on the college experience. Typical activities during the week include:
- Ojibwemowin language
- Sample college math and writing courses
- Fun college art studios
- Great guest speakers
- Evening social activities
- Fabulous field trips
The Nandagikendan Seek to Learn Academy provides high school students the opportunity to learn and experience college life on the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College campus. The program has been operating since 2011 on campus in Cloquet. Our Summer Academy is a great time to meet new people, make lifelong friends, and learn about what it takes to be successful in college!
