Students must apply for financial aid each year. This is done by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA uses federal tax information from the previous year to determine your financial aid eligibility. To apply, follow these steps:
Complete the FAFSA.
- Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov.
- Use the IRS Data Retrieval function to enter your and your parent’s income information
- Create Federal Student Aid (FSA) identification numbers (IDs) for you and a parent that you will use to retrieve your IRS information and sign the FAFSA
- Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College’s FAFSA school code is 031291
Don’t Hesitate to Ask Questions.
Be proactive and take control of your financial aid process. If you don’t know what the next step is, ask. If you don’t know what a form is, ask. If you don’t know the status of your application, ask. The financial aid system is based on federal and Minnesota state regulations, and there are deadlines that must be met. These deadlines are firm, and if you miss one, you may not receive funding. So begin the financial aid process early, read all the materials mailed to you, and ask if you are unclear on your status.

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College maintains an open-door admission policy, assesses students admitted, and provides developmental course work and other programs of assistance to support students’ success. However, students must perform at an acceptable academic level to continue enrollment and to receive financial aid. Our Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy can be found here.
