Survey will be forwarded to registrants. \nThe Cottage Foods Producer Food Safety Training is approved to meet the tier 2 training requirement of the Cottage Foods Exemption law and the Home-processed Pet Treats Exemption. The course applies the rules from the law and safe food handling practices that will help you make and sell safe cottage food products in Minnesota. \nCourse topics \n\nFoodborne illness and pathogens of concern.\nType of foods allowed and not allowed.\nFood safety controls for use in food preservation and food preparation.\nSafe food handling practices.\nA thorough sanitation routine.\nPackaging and labeling requirements and best practices.\nFood safety during the sale of cottage foods.\n\nTier 2 cottage foods producers must complete this course before registering with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) and renew this training every 3 years. \nAfter completing the course\, you will receive a certificate of completion\, and then you will register or renew your cottage foods registration with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
