Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Football placekicker and punter Michael Hall was named Special Teams Athlete of the Week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Eastern Division for games played on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
Hall was a perfect 4-for-4 on extra point attempts, plus he added two field goals of 25 yards and 35 yards in the Thunder’s 36-3 win over Minnesota State-Fergus Falls last Saturday. He had seven kickoffs covering 324 yards for an average of 46.3 yards per kickoff, with two touchbacks that helped the Thunder control field position throughout the game. Hall also had two punts during the game, averaging 36 yards per punt while dropping both punts inside the twenty-yard line. Hall is in his first year with the Thunder and is a graduate of Westosha Central High School in Racine, WI.
Hall’s path to play for the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Football team is an interesting one. He is a military veteran, having served 2.5 years in the United States Navy and completed two deployments to the Mediterranean region as part of Operation Enduring Freedom with stops in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Turkey. Hall, at age 25, is in his second year of college football after transferring from Yuba College in Marysville, CA, to come play for the Thunder. Hall is an Art major at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College.
The 2019 Thunder Football team is currently 1-0 on the season. The Thunder make their first road trip this weekend when they play conference powerhouse North Dakota State College of Science at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, in Wahpeton, ND.

Testimonials

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.
