Respiratory Virus Guidance from CDC

In short, if you have tested positive for COVID, you can resume normal activities 24 hours after a positive test as long as symptoms are improving and you have been fever-free for those 24 hours without taking fever reducing medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen (Advil or Tylenol).

COVID aware Minnesota

Imagine that you test positive for COVID-19. You tell your friends and family that you may have been in contact with, but how do you inform that people that you don’t know? Minnesota’s free exposure notification app, COVIDaware MN, will help us all do our part.

Plus, the app notifies you if you’ve been near someone who tested positive for COVID-19. If you test positive, you can use the app to anonymously notify anyone you’ve been near.

VACCINE CONNECTOR

The Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector tool helps Minnesotans find out when, where, and how to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

After you fill out a simple form, the Vaccine Connector will:

  • alert you when you are eligible to receive a vaccine;
  • connect you to resources to schedule a vaccine appointment; and
  • notify you if there are vaccine opportunities in your area.

FACE MASKS

Well-fitted masks are an effective mitigation effort to prevent respiratory illness. Masks are not required on campus, but if you feel better wearing a mask, please continue to do so.

HANDWASHING

  • Wash your hands often, with soap and water. Wash for at least 20 seconds.
  • Always wash your hands after being in a public place.
  • Always wash your hands after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol.
    • Hand Hygiene
  • Use hand sanitizers on the hands only. Never use them on larger body surfaces, and never swallow or breathe them in.
  • Do not make hand sanitizers into something you can spray into the air. This is dangerous to your health and can catch fire.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue. Throw used tissues in the trash.
    • Cover Your Cough

WELLNESS

Taking care of yourself is more important than ever.

Testimonials

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.
