The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha Phi Upsilon Chapter, inducted 19 new members during an annual recognition ceremony held on April 27, 2022, at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College.

The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programs. At Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, members must initially achieve and then maintain a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average in college courses, demonstrate involvement in campus activities, and accept a leadership role in student organizations.

“The Phi Theta Kappa Spring Induction Ceremony is an opportunity to gather and formally recognize and celebrate all our new honor society members from this past year,” shared the chapter’s faculty advisor, Keith Cich, “We celebrate not only their academic achievements, but also their determination to succeed, overcome obstacles, and make a difference on our campus and in their communities.”

During the ceremony, Phi Theta Kappa Chapter President, Alysia Oswald provided the history and purpose of Phi Theta Kappa, and the Director of the Environmental Institute at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, Courtney Kowalczak, was the speaker.
