Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDLTCC) is thrilled to share Michael Tusken, Chief of Police for the City of Duluth, will be leading the College’s Law Enforcement program starting in August 2022.

Tusken will be replacing former Chief of Police for the City of Cloquet, Wade Lamirande, as the program coordinator. “I’m excited that Chief Tusken has accepted the position of Law Enforcement Program Coordinator!” shared Lamirande, “Mike’s previous career experience, training, and education makes him the perfect choice to lead the program into the future.”

Michael Tusken has been with the City of Duluth for the past 30 years and has served as Chief of Police since 2016. In his role with the City of Duluth, Tusken provided overall leadership and direction to the City of Duluth’s Police Department; engaged staff and community to work in partnership to improve safety and quality of life; mentored staff for continuous improvement; and much more. Tusken received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Herzing University in Minneapolis and an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement from Hibbing Community College.

Wade Lamirande has been an enthusiastic and valued member of the FDLTCC team as the Law Enforcement Program Coordinator since 2014 and previously served as the Chief of Police for the City of Cloquet.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the FDLTCC community,” shared Lamirande, “I have truly enjoyed my time working with the excellent faculty and staff. The highlight for me was sharing my career experience while contributing to the success of our students.”
