Thunder Football game report for Saturday, September 5: North Dakota State College of Science 12, Thunder 7
Strong defensive play by both teams was the story of the football game on Saturday afternoon in Wahpeton, North Dakota. The Thunder offense struggled until getting on a roll in the fourth quarter.
A few key highlights in the game included Logan Crowser getting a sack in the second quarter and forcing a fumble that the Thunder recover. In the fourth quarter, Donte Arnold returned a punt 42 yards to give the Thunder great field position. Quarterback Jarred White came in to relieve Kendarian Carter and White’s first play goes for a 60-yard touchdown completion over the middle of the field to Damon Barnes, putting the Thunder on the scoreboard with around four minutes remaining in the game. Eddie Oquendo makes the extra-point kick and the score is 12-7.
The Thunder needed a huge defensive effort on their next series, and they got it. Gavin Leach rushed the NDSCS quarterback, stripping the football loose and recovering it deep in NDSCS territory with two minutes remaining. The Thunder fall short after an intentional grounding penalty call on quarterback Jarred White who was hit on the arm during the play, sending the ball sailing out of bounds. Our Thunder couldn’t recover from the loss of down from the penalty and end up losing a close game 12-7.

Testimonials

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.
