The College for Seniors Program at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College announced the program’s Fall Term 2016 schedule of courses in a recently published course catalog. The new schedule includes 18 short-term, enrichment-style courses covering a range of topics. The non-credit courses are designed for inquisitive adult learners, with no tests or homework required. Registration is currently open and courses begin in early October and run through early December, with most courses meeting for just one or two sessions.
The College for Seniors program was established to provide lifelong learning opportunities for older adults within a supportive environment on campus. The program is designed by its participants through gathering input for new courses, identifying potential instructors, and making recommendations about scheduling and costs.
The variety of courses offered are designed to stimulate the intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being of veteran learners in order to provide personal enrichment and enhance social interaction opportunities. College for Seniors Fall Term 2016 courses offer topics ranging from astronomy and Spanish to wood carving and pickleball. All courses are held in classrooms and labs at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. Some courses include outdoor activities and field trips as part of the learning experience.
A complete list of courses can be found on the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College website at www.fdltcc.edu as well as in the College for Seniors Fall 2016 Catalog. Course instructors volunteer to teach in the program and include college faculty and staff, retired teachers and university professors, and local experts on specific topics.
Registering for courses can be done by mail, phone, in person, or online. Participation per course ranges from $5.00 to $30.00. It is never too late to join, even if a class has already met once. The program offers social opportunities as well, beginning with an orientation session at the start of each term and a luncheon at the conclusion of each term.

Testimonials

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.
