Currently, Minnesota is at the HIGH level of activity for people who have contracted the flu. We have a significant amount of flu activity on campus. We have both students and employees who have missed classes or work due to illness, but we also have students/employees on campus with flu-like symptoms.
A couple of facts to pass on about the flu:
1. Flu shots are NOT 100% but they DO significantly reduce your chances to get the flu. It is important that EVERYONE get a flu shot. Also, the flu shots cover the respiratory flu, NOT the stomach flu!
2. If you are ill with a fever, please STAY HOME. Do NOT return until you have been fever-free for at least 24-48 hours.
3. If you do get the flu, make sure to hydrate yourself and take medication to reduce your fever. It can last up to a week or longer.
If anyone has any questions, please contact your healthcare provider or you can contact one of us in the nursing program department on campus.
Let’s try to keep others from getting ill and make the good decision to stay home when sick. While you are on campus, please remember to WASH your hands and COVER your cough. We do have hand sanitizer in all classrooms for your use. Use it as needed. If any are empty, please let maintenance staff or the information desk staff know the location that needs to be re-filled.
Stay Healthy in 2017!!!

Testimonials

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.
