Multimedia Production Degree program
Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College offers three levels of academic programs in Multimedia Production to meet the needs of students interested in a career or general background in video and audio production. Each program covers the basics of using visual and audio recording equipment, hands-on editing experience, legal and ethical aspects of the industry, plus the opportunity for internships and making connections with special events and festivals.
Students interested in visual tasks and elements of sound are good candidates for the Multimedia Production program. Students who like to take photos, watch and make videos, tell stories, or record history will enjoy courses within the program.
A Degree for Producing Your Future
Our 60-credit Associate of Applied Science degree in Multimedia Production is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions and also for transfer to four-year degree programs. Courses in Audio Production, Video Production, Digital Storytelling, Computer Animation, and Digital Photography teach our students to use industry standard technology while learning how to be flexible in a constantly changing career field. An internship experience offers real-world job training and networking with potential employers in our region. The current certificate program planner checklist of required courses is available for viewing and printing here.
Degree requirements and course are subject to change. Students should consult with an advisor/counselor when registering for courses.
Diploma and Certificate Options
Our 38-credit Diploma program in Multimedia Production is also designed to prepare students for entry-level positions and transfer. Shorter than the degree program and more in-depth than our certificate program, the diploma program is a good foundation for quick-entry job market seekers and independent producers and technicians.
Our 16-credit Multimedia Production Certificate is a perfect fit for students who are majoring in a different program area yet want to have a foundational knowledge of media production. The short-term certificate program nicely compliments a degree in Business, Art, Elementary Education, Environmental Science, or American Indian Studies.
Digital Recording Studio on Campus
Our multimedia production and related courses use up-to-date equipment, including cameras, microphones, professional processing and editing software, studio lights and related equipment, drones, and calibrated monitors. A dedicated computer lab with 30 stations hosts high-end PCs running the latest graphic design software.
The Multimedia Production programs prepare students for a range of career fields, including:
