It was another tremendous fundraiser on campus Thursday evening (January 17, 2019) with the sixth annual Food for Thought Tasting Event bringing more than 300 people together to support our students and the Foundation scholarship fund. A great line-up of 20 local food and beverage vendors provided delectable tastes of specialty foods, much to the delight of all of the attendees.
Thanks to all of our sponsors, vendors, student and staff volunteers, and Foundation Board members who worked hard to present a successful event! And, congratulations to Mom’s Best Baklava on winning the Silver Spoon Dessert Award, and to the Carmen’s on winning the Golden Spoon Award, both received the most votes in the Peoples’ choice voting for favorite entree and dessert.
Raffle prize winners included Tara Graves, Marty Ketola, June Lind, and Brad Bohlmann who were present to receive their great prizes. Many other attendees won silent auction items and gift certificates from the wall of Wine, too.
A great set of photos is posted online here.

Testimonials

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.
