Kaysee Olson, a student at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, has been named the 2015 recipient of the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship. Olson, a current Proctor resident and a graduate of Cloquet Senior High School, is completing the Practical Nursing Diploma program in her first year of the Nursing degree program at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. She has a career goal to become a registered nurse, with a specific interest in working in an operating room setting.
The scholarship is unique in that it was established as part of the relationship between the college and the hospital, with a goal of fostering an environment where the local healthcare workforce is representative of the communities served.
The Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship is awarded through a selection process based on criteria that includes professional promise, enrollment in the Nursing degree program at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, grade point average, and a stated desire to work in Carlton County and rural medicine. The scholarship can be used toward tuition, books, and supplies for the academic year.

Testimonials

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.
