Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDLTCC) is pleased to announce students will soon be able to learn in a beautiful new outdoor classroom on campus.  The new space will be known as the Megwayaak (in the woods) Classroom and located between the campus’ amphitheater and the dynamic Chiringa art piece.

“We are so excited about Megwayaak,” shared Courtney Kowalczak, Director of the Environmental Institute at FDLTCC, “…It will give us the ability to hold workshops and demonstrations on how to prepare fresh local foods and use traditional foods, such as manoomin (wild rice) and maple syrup, in wonderful tasting dishes. It will be a beautiful learning space.”

The Megwayaak Classroom, constructed by TKDA with general contractor, Max Grey Construction, will feature a demonstration kitchen and space that will be used for a variety of classes and other activities. Construction on the Megwayaak Classroom is expected to be completed in Fall 2022.

Testimonials

My favorite thing about FDLTCC is the people. I’ve met fantastic students, faculty and staff who go above and beyond what I expected.

I chose FDLTCC because of its size and the curriculum. When I first came here in 2019, I was just looking for what I needed to volunteer, perhaps in a crisis shelter. I met with Don Jarvinen, and the rest is history.

It is awesome here at the FDLTCC Education Program because it is like a family here, if you need help or are struggling with anything, you have quite a few people who will help you out.
