Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that provides: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that provides: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in all college programs and activities, including, but not limited to, admissions, recruiting, financial aid, academic programs, student services, counseling and guidance, discipline, class assignment, grading, recreation, housing, and employment.
Sexual harassment and sexual violence are forms of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX. Title IX also prohibits retaliation against people for making or participating in complaints of sex discrimination.

No person shall be discriminated against in the terms and conditions of employment, personnel practices, or access to and participation in, programs, services, and activities with regard to race, sex, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, disability, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. In addition, discrimination in employment based on membership or activity in a local commission as defined by law is prohibited.
Harassment on the basis of race, sex, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, disability, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression is prohibited. Harassment may occur in a variety of relationships, including faculty and student, supervisor and employee, student and student, staff and student, employee and employee, and other relationships with persons having business at, or visiting the educational or working environment.
FDLTCC adheres to the Minnesota State Sexual Violence Policy. We adhere to the Minnesota State Response to Sexual Violence procedure.
The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Sexual Misconduct Reporting Form is available for students, employees, or any concerned person for reporting information involving sexual misconduct matters. This includes instances of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, relationship violence, and stalking. This information is routed to Campus Security Report Compliance Officer/Title IX Coordinator. This information may be used in addressing and disciplining the accused individual.

Everyone on campus is encouraged to immediately report any criminal activity to any employee and/or the Cloquet Police Department. Please notify the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management anytime 911 services are requested (fire, police or ambulance) on campus.

Pregnant and parenting students are entitled to all programs and activities sponsored by the College. Every office at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College must not discriminate against a student based on the following: pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, and recovery from any of these conditions.

Gender is a protected class under Title IX of the Educational Amendments. This class encompasses discrimination based on a student’s gender identity, including discrimination based on a student’s transgender identity. FDLTCC commits to not exclude, separate, deny benefits to, or otherwise treat individuals differently on the basis of gender or sex.
It is important for FDLTCC to create a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment. This includes student records (including a preferred pronoun policy), gender-neutral restrooms, and activities.
